Explore 204 artists in German rap and its indie, pop and R&B neighbourhood. This is a curated selection, not a ranking or a complete scene survey.
Locations and connections
Map pins are city-level scene associations, never private addresses. Select a city to browse its artists. Collaboration lines have release sources in artist profiles; the graph is incomplete. Dashed similarity lines are estimates based on the six editorial sound dimensions, weighted equally.
Sounds and feelings
Seven broad families, mood tags and 0–100 profiles are curatorial interpretations, not measured audio features or listener responses. Artists can cross several styles. The Sounds view groups artists by their primary family. Each mood has its own color. Choose a feeling to compare places across the map. The map’s feeling controls keep artists visible and shade places from gray (low) to the feeling’s color (high). Polygon dimensions use city-average scores; mood layers show the share of local artists with that tag. The surface smoothly blends nearby city values, without increasing intensity just because an area has more artists. Hatching marks areas outside local sample coverage. These are approximate visual areas, not measured regional boundaries.
What the lyrics tell us
535 of 612 requested tracks have exact artist/title matches in LRCLIB. A 14-theme German/English lexicon counts whole-word signals, deduplicates repeated lines and excludes matches with local negation in the preceding three words. Rates are averaged equally across distinct tracks; missing data stays missing.
Small samples, slang, irony and ambiguous words limit the analysis. These are topic clues, not a reliable prediction of how a listener feels. The narrator is not automatically the artist. Raw lyrics are never published here.
